homemade beeswax wood polish

Localhoney

Look at all this honey! The jars of orange blossom honey are for making mead but the bag on the right is a few pounds of beeswax for making a wood polish. We are trying to buy from local sellers more and more for all our crafting and we get our honey and beeswax from Bill's Bees who sells at our local farmers market. His beeswax is some of the best smelling I've found, it has a hint of orange blossom in it.

I've made my own wood polish with beeswax and organic jojoba oil. My jojoba oil is out of New Mexico as there is not a local organic dealer other than LaRonna but their next harvest isn't until June and a frost last January destroyed their current crop.

Anyway, you simply melt the beeswax (I use a makeshift double boiler by floating a glass mason jar in a pot of water) and then mix three parts jojoba oil to one part beeswax. The jojoba oil mixes with the wax and when it cools it remains spreadable. Too lazy? This Beeutiful Bees Polish is a great beeswax/jojoba oil polish that I LOVE to use.
