This was really great! Thank you!

PalleikoDesigns

AWESOME blog! Thanks for sharing this information.

Naughty Girl!

Thanks! I was feeling kinda empty, I didnt know how to thank my customers at my upcoming event, I will now make pins and stickers to give out

Alison Whittington

This is a great list! Thank you for sharing your insights. I am always amazed, as a customer, at how unfriendly some artists and crafters are at fairs and shows, and I'm super shy myself, but I just fake it.

I agree with what Sandy said, too. As a buyer, it is a total turnoff to hear one artist talking to another about how well they are or are not doing at the show. And as a seller, I find it intrusive when other sellers ask me how much I'm selling.

Great posting - I'm starting to do craft fairs this fall and I'm scouring the web for good info. Your lessons are great! :)

Steppie

This post was extremely helpful!

I am looking into participating in a few craft fairs and shows myself, and this will definitely be something I look to for some advice. :)

Jaime pickering

Great info! Some of those really hit the nail on the head! The freebie thing is something I rarely do, but will think about.

bridget

wow, what a great post!!! most are common sense, but wow, one really did hit home with me, thank you. i just printed it and put it on my wall

Valerie

If you MUST eat, don't do it in your booth!! Take your muchies out back and snack. And don't be eating sloppy messy food. Bite sized pieces are great!

Jessica McLeod

This is a fantastic post! Thank you very much :D

SygnetCreations

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing.

Crazy Bliss

excellent article, with some great added comments. many thanks for posting craft vendor booth mistakes. i'm sure you have improved craft shows worldwide with your generosity. :)

Susie

Thank you for the advice!
I will get a sign immediately boss!

:)

Great information! I definitely also agree with the not being too pushy. Some sellers just seem needy when they stand next to you, looking like a hawk at what you might be touching... I think I prefer it when sellers sit down in the smaller craft fairs anyway.

Lori Huhn

You did a wonderful job. Thanks for these hints. I agree completly with them all

alex

what a GREAT post!! i'm doing my first fair in just a couple of weeks and this article was so helpful.

It's taken me a the past year of doing weekly markets to learn those lessons the hard way. I've recently added a professional banner and free bagdes with my details,it's really made a diffence to getting conversations started with people.
Another tip, never smoke at your stall, even if it is outdoors.
Don't get involved with bikering between vendors,it's not worth it and creates a bad atmosphere.
always smile and stay positive, even if you're having a bad day, customers can smell desperation

Eileen

Wonderful tips! A pet peeve of mine is the vendors who talk to each other like the customer is invisible, and complain about the show. Not enough people attending, sales are down, don't like the booth location, won't ever do this show again, etc.

Tina Amato

I'll be in my first show on Nov. 1st, so this was incredibly helpful. Thank you!

Lorrie

What a great article!! These are some of the things that I am slowly learning. I will definitely take a second look at our booth!

Jean

My daughter told me about this article. What a great read. I never thought about any of the things you said but now I will.

Thanks

Thank you for the wonderful tips!
I'm going to be doing my very first (very small) craft show and these tips will all come in very handy for me!
Thanks again!

Jenniffer

Wow what wonderful tips! Definitely going to book mark this to come back to it as I'll be doing a couple craft fairs in a month.

Thanks for sharing!

Great suggestions! I'm a newbie with my second craft show coming up. This article really helps me out! The only thing that I didn't do was have the sign, but that's a great suggestion. It would make you look more professional. Thanks for your help!

Leah

a fantastic article, thanks so much!!
